User journeys

Visualise the most common paths visitors take through your site with a Sankey diagram.

The Journeys tab (in the Behaviour hub) shows how visitors flow between pages as a Sankey diagram — wider flows mean more sessions took that path.

Reading the diagram

  • Nodes are pages, labelled with their traffic count.
  • Flows connect pages; width represents the number of sessions moving between them.
  • Hover a node for its step number and session total; hover a flow for the source → target count.

Controls

  • Max steps (1–5) — how deep into the journey to display.
  • Top journeys (5–100) — how many of the most common paths to include.

Why it's useful

Journeys reveal unexpected detours, popular entry-to-conversion paths, and where users loop or drop out — a good complement to conversion funnels.
